Description
The Kaweco Piston Sport AL Fountain Pen combines the compact proportions of the Sport series with an integrated piston-filling system. This Starter Set includes the black and gold aluminum pen, a 32 ml bottle of Kaweco Royal Blue ink, and a round presentation tin.
The design returns to an earlier chapter of the Sport’s history. Kaweco introduced a piston-filled Sport under the model number 612 in 1937. The current aluminum version, released in 2024, retains the pocket-sized format while replacing cartridges and removable converters with an internal ink chamber.
To fill the pen, remove the cap at the end of the barrel to access the piston knob, immerse the nib and feed in bottled fountain pen ink, and turn the mechanism to draw ink into the chamber. A transparent ink window makes it easy to check the remaining level before leaving home or beginning a longer writing session.
The body is made from matte black anodized aluminum with a fixed gold-plated clip and gold-tone details. Closed, it measures approximately 4.06 inches long. Posting the screw-on cap extends it to 5 inches, providing a more comfortable length for regular writing.
Choose from five gold-plated stainless steel nib sizes: Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, or Extra Broad. Kaweco recommends Medium for customers who are unsure where to begin. The pen uses the threaded Kaweco 190 nib unit, developed specifically for the Piston Sport with an additional seal around the filling system. Compatible replacement nib units are sold separately.
