Description
The Kaweco Original 060 extends the company’s octagonal pen format into a longer fountain pen made for regular desk and notebook use. Its shape draws on Kaweco writing instruments from the late 1950s, combining a faceted cap and barrel with a convex metal grip section.
The body is made from aluminum with a matte black anodized finish. Chrome-plated details include the permanently attached pocket clip and the Kaweco medallion set into the cap. At 4.96 inches long when closed and 23 grams, the pen has a substantial metal feel without the weight of Kaweco’s brass models.
The 060 designation refers to Kaweco’s smaller threaded nib format, also used across several of the brand’s other fountain pen collections. Choose from Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, or Extra Broad. The stainless steel nib has an iridium point and can be unscrewed and replaced later if the customer wants to change the writing width or nib finish.
Unlike Kaweco’s compact Sport and Liliput fountain pens, the Original has enough barrel space for a full-size Kaweco Standard Converter. The converter screws into the front section for a secure connection and allows the pen to be filled from bottled ink. It is sold separately. Standard international ink cartridges can also be used, and one blue cartridge is included.
The threaded cap is removed during writing and is not designed to post securely on the rear of the barrel. Without the cap, the pen measures approximately 4.7 inches and is balanced for extended writing. The attached clip keeps it secure in a pocket, notebook cover, or pen loop between uses.
