Description
The Carte Blanche Breakfast Bowl by Serax is a white porcelain bowl with an intentionally folded, irregular form. Designed by Dutch designer Annebet Philips, it belongs to a tableware collection that began as cardboard prototypes, then carried those cut edges, folds, and quick black outline marks into porcelain.
The bowl has the useful scale of a cereal or breakfast bowl, but the shape makes it less ordinary on the table. The raised edges and hand-painted black lines give each piece a drawn quality, as though a paper mock-up has been frozen into ceramic. It works for cereal, yogurt, fruit, rice, dessert, snacks, or small composed dishes.
The black detailing is hand-painted, so small irregularities are part of the design rather than flaws. Use it with other Carte Blanche pieces for a full graphic table setting, or mix it into plain white dinnerware when you want one piece with more character.
The bowl is dishwasher safe, microwave safe, food safe, and oven safe up to 356°F or 180°C. It is not salamander proof. Serax lists the bowl per item with a minimum order quantity of 2; for Gessato, this listing is best presented as a set of two bowls.
