Description
Designed by Miguel Milá in 1962, Cestita Metálica is the smaller metal-framed lamp in the Cesta family. The collection developed from an opaline globe Milá found outside a glass factory in Barcelona. In this version, the illuminated glass form rests inside an open stainless steel structure rather than the steam-bent wood frame used for the original Cestita.
Cestita Metálica has no carrying handle. At 9 inches in diameter and 11 inches high, it is designed to remain on a bedside table, shelf, console, or low side table. Its 5.5-pound weight provides a stable base for the glass shade, while the open frame keeps the globe visible from every side.
The white opal glass softens the bulb and distributes light around the lamp. The shade is manually produced using traditional glass-blowing techniques and should be handled carefully during bulb installation or replacement.
The US version uses one replaceable, dimmable E26 LED bulb, not included. Santa & Cole currently recommends a 3.4W bulb producing 470 lumens at 2700K. A hand dimmer is included for adjusting the light level and switching the lamp on or off.
The electrical cord measures 88.6 inches. Cestita Metálica is UL listed and rated IP20 for indoor, dry-location use only. It is not rechargeable and should not be used outdoors or placed on damp surfaces.
