Architectmade FJ Clock

Aluminum hands curve gently over the bowl-shaped face of the FJ Clock, following the wood’s shallow concave surface. Small metal dots mark the hours, doubled at twelve, three, six, and nine. Danish architect and furniture designer Finn Juhl designed the clock in 1950 as part of his interior for the United Nations Trusteeship Council Chamber in New York. Today, Danish brand Architectmade produces the design in teak and black-stained ash.

The teak version shows warm brown grain, while the black version keeps the ash’s pattern visible through the stain. Both finishes retain the same numberless dial and rounded profile. This mid-century modern wood wall clock comes in two diameters: choose the smaller for a kitchen or study, or the larger for a living room or office wall. Natural wood variations give each dial its own pattern. The clock requires one AA battery, not included, and must be held vertically when setting the time.
