Turn the head, tip the beak, or reverse the body to change Bird’s pose. Kristian Vedel’s handmade oak figurine comes in six size-and-finish combinations, ready to stand alone or join a small group on a shelf.

Description

A slight tilt of the head is enough to change Bird’s expression. Point the beak upward for an alert pose, turn it toward another bird, or lower it for a more pensive look. Danish designer Kristian Vedel created the wooden figure in 1959, using a separate rounded head and a reversible body to give it a range of gestures. Danish brand Architectmade makes each bird by hand in oak, with contrasting wenge and maple inlaid eyes.

Choose from Small, Large, and Chubby in either Natural Oak or the darker Smoked Oak. Small is the most compact, Large is the tallest, and Chubby has a broad, rounded body. Display one beside books on a shelf or combine different sizes and finishes on a desk or sideboard. The head rests freely on the body, allowing you to adjust its position whenever you rearrange the display. Each figure is sold individually; group photographs show combinations of separately purchased birds.
