Description
Floppy ears and an oversized muzzle give this poseable wooden dog figurine an attentive expression. Its jointed body can stand, sit, or crouch, changing character with each adjustment. Danish architect Hans Bølling designed the original Oscar in 1953, later joined by Bobby and Rufus. Danish home-accessories brand Architectmade produces all three by hand, combining rounded wooden parts with dark leather details.
Oscar and Bobby share the smaller proportions, but their woods give them different coloring. Oscar’s beech has a pale, warm tone; Bobby’s walnut brings a darker brown grain. Both stand about five inches high. Rufus enlarges the beech version to just over fourteen inches, giving the same familiar features enough scale for a low cabinet or a place beside a lounge chair.
Set one among books, pose it beside a desk lamp, or arrange two facing each other on a console. Each dog is sold individually. Choose a compact companion for a dog lover’s desk or the larger Rufus as a gift for someone building a collection of Danish wooden figures.
