Description
The Kaweco Liliput Fireblue Capped Ballpoint Pen combines one of the company’s smallest writing formats with a screw-on cap that becomes part of the pen during use. Closed, it measures only 3.82 inches long. Remove the cap and screw it onto the rear of the barrel to extend the pen to approximately 4.96 inches.
Unlike the retractable Liliput ballpoint, this model has no push button. Its capped construction protects the writing tip while carried and gives the closed pen a profile similar to a Liliput fountain pen.
Each stainless steel body is blued individually by hand. Differences in temperature create shifting blue and brown tones across the surface, so no two examples have the same color distribution. Some pens may show stronger blue and teal areas, while others contain more bronze, brown, or dark steel. The finish may also continue to change through regular handling.
The narrow 9.9 mm body weighs 30.5 grams, giving the small pen a substantial metal feel. Its compact closed length works well for a pocket, small leather case, notebook pouch, or travel kit, while the posted cap provides the additional length needed for everyday writing.
A blue 1.0 mm D1 ballpoint refill is included. Compatible Kaweco refills are available in blue and black with 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, and 1.2 mm line widths, as well as red in 1.0 mm. The standardized D1 format also makes replacements straightforward.
