Designed by the Santa & Cole Team in 1997, the Trípode G5 Floor Lamp is built around three slender black metal rods that cross near the top and spread toward the floor. They support the broad shade without a conventional central column or weighted base, leaving the structure open beneath the light.
The slightly tapered shade is wrapped by hand in cotton ribbon. The vertical layers soften the bulb and produce broad ambient illumination while retaining a clearly defined texture when the lamp is switched off. At 66.1 inches high and 24.4 inches across, Trípode G5 has enough scale for a living room, bedroom, studio, or hospitality lounge without requiring a heavy base.
Choose Natural Ribbon for a warm off-white tone, Red-Amber for a stronger field of color, or Black for a darker silhouette. The two striped versions were created by textile designer Júlia Esqué in 2022. Diplomática uses narrow black-and-white lines, while Bretona uses wider black-and-white bands.
The US version includes polished brass foot plates and a foot dimmer positioned on the electrical cord. It requires one dimmable E26 LED bulb, not included. Santa & Cole currently recommends an 11W bulb producing 1,521 lumens at 2700K.
A dimmable bulb is required for the foot control to work correctly. The lamp is UL listed for indoor, dry-location use only. Assembly is required, and the structure and shade arrive in separate packages.
