Rabbit-shaped cast iron bottle opener made in Japan. Solid in the hand, easy to use, and designed to sit comfortably on the table when not in use.

Description

This rabbit-shaped bottle opener is cast in iron by Sumitani Saburo Shoten, a metal workshop based in Takaoka, Japan, with roots going back to 1939. The form is simple and direct: the curved head lifts the cap, the elongated body sits comfortably in the hand, and the weight does the work without effort.

Made using traditional casting techniques, the surface has a slightly matte texture that develops character over time. When not in use, it rests flat on the table or counter, reading more like a small object than a tool that needs to be put away. It opens bottles cleanly and reliably, but it also works as a quiet visual accent—functional first, unobtrusive always. A small, well-made piece that reflects the studio’s approach to everyday tools: practical, durable, and shaped with intention. Made in Japan.
