Description
The Mask Stool, a brainchild of Danish architect Eva Harlou, showcases an innovative design born from a revolutionary production method. This cutting-edge approach allows Mater to repurpose low-value waste, such as spent grain (or ‘mask’ in Danish) from Carlsberg’s beer production, into functional and distinctive design solutions.
In partnership with the Danish Technological Institute, Mater has pioneered a new industrial technology for processing various fiber-based waste materials, including spent grain from beer production. After years of meticulous research and testing, Mater successfully transformed these waste materials into a unique composite by combining them with post-industrial plastic waste.
