Cast iron tea kettles are made to hold heat, and attention. They’re heavy, solid, and usually stay out in the open—on the stove, near the wood burner, or right on the table. This group includes rounded, lidded shapes with wide handles, most of them made from solid cast iron, some lined in enamel. A few are finished with textured surfaces or raised patterns. They work on most heat sources and are just as useful when not in use. Some are plain and minimal. Others look like they’ve been around longer than the kitchen itself. Either way, they do the job and look right doing it.
