Description
A famous haiku written by the poet Matsuo Basho during Japan’s Edo period provided the inspiration for the design of this charming Nambu Tekki Iron Kettle. Named Summer Grass, this cast iron kettle boasts fresh green and luminous golden colors in a mesmerizing combination that will always make the tea serving ritual memorable. Both the body and lid boast fine golden lines, with the folding handle featuring a lustrous black finish. Designed with a wider base, this kettle heats up water quicker, especially on an induction stove. The included strainer filters the tea leaves and makes serving tea easier and more convenient. Larger than traditional Japanese cast iron kettles, this product has a capacity of 0.8 L to prepare more cups of tea at a time, whether for yourself or your guests. The Oitomi Standing Summer Grass Nambu Tekki Iron Kettle is compatible with all stovetops, from induction and gas to ceramic and electric.
Please keep in mind that while it is crafted with an anti-rust technique, this product can rust if moisture is left inside the kettle. Don’t use detergent, sponges or scrubbers to clean the kettle, as they can damage the material. Wipe off any excess moisture with a soft cloth.
Only use low to medium heat on induction stoves, as high heat can deform the cast iron. If used on an open flame, keep in mind that the cast iron will gradually discolor and the base will turn white over time.
