Description
In 1959, a Copenhagen policeman stopped traffic to let a duck and her ducklings cross the street. The story inspired Danish architect Hans Bølling to design the two wooden figures now produced by Danish brand Architectmade. Each teak wood duck figurine is handmade, with a rounded head, a long, flat bill, and broad feet beneath its curved body. Small dark eyes give both figures an alert expression. A clear matte teak-oil finish leaves the grain visible across the surface.
Duck has a taller, elongated body; Duckling is smaller and rounder. The larger Duck stands a little over twice the height of the Duckling. Both have movable heads, so a simple turn changes the direction of their gaze. Set one beside a stack of books, line up several along a sideboard, or place a Duckling opposite the larger Duck. Choose Duck or Duckling; each is sold individually, with additional figures purchased separately.
