Designed by Naoki Terada for Lemnos, the Carved wall clock received the prestigious Good Design Award (Japan) 2010. The following Carved II version promptly picked up the same award, in 2014. While this design features the same carved numbers of the original, the font makes them look like simple, slim lines and decorative accents. The numerals measure only 2 mm in width, taking the Carved wall clock concept to a new level of stylish minimalism. Contrasting hour, minute, and second hands add a pop of color to the design. Architect and designer Naoki Terada was born in 1967 in Osaka, Japan. After completing a bachelor degree in architecture at the Meiji University in Tokyo in 1989, he moved briefly to the UK.
