Description
Shiro 17 Portable places warm light inside a compact cube of horizontal metal slats. Designed by Antoni Arola for Santa & Cole, a translucent inner diffuser softens the integrated LED while the surrounding structure breaks the light into narrow bands across nearby surfaces.
The rechargeable version removes the power cord, making Shiro particularly useful on a bedside table, bookshelf, dining table, console, or anywhere an outlet would dictate where the lamp has to sit. At just 6.7 inches square, it takes up little surface area, although its 5.7-pound weight gives it a substantial, stable feel.
An integrated switch provides two brightness levels. Battery life reaches approximately 7 hours at full intensity or 14 hours at the lower setting, with a full recharge taking about 8.5 hours. The supplied contact charger eliminates the need to plug a cable directly into the lamp each time it needs power.
The built-in 3W LED produces warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90. Despite its cordless construction and the outdoor origins of the larger Shiro family, this battery version is IP20 and intended for indoor use only.
