Description
The HB Stool is a low upholstered stool by Danish architect and designer Hans Bølling for Brdr. Krüger. It belongs to the HB Collection, a group of furniture pieces developed around rounded wood members, exposed structure, and the same disciplined warmth found in Bølling’s 1963 Tray Table.
Use it as a footstool with the HB Lounge Chair, as a compact extra seat, or as a flexible piece near a sofa, reading chair, bed, or dressing area. The stool has a solid hardwood frame with continuous rounded forms and clean joinery. Above it sits a generous upholstered cushion with button detailing, giving the compact frame a softer point of contact.
The frame comes in four finishes: Oiled Oak, Oiled Fumed Oak, White-Oiled Maple, and Oiled Cherry. Oiled Oak gives the stool a lighter Danish wood expression. Oiled Fumed Oak adds a deeper brown tone. White-Oiled Maple is pale and clean. Oiled Cherry brings a warmer red-brown character that will develop with time and light.
For upholstery, choose Canvas for a textile version or Spectrum Brandy Leather for a richer leather surface with natural patina potential. The Canvas version feels softer and more informal; the Brandy Leather version adds warmth and contrast against the wood frame.
The HB Stool is made to order in Denmark. It is especially strong when paired with the HB Lounge Chair in the same frame and upholstery combination, but it also works on its own as a refined low stool for living rooms, bedrooms, libraries, and hospitality spaces.
