Description
Italian designer Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba believes “irony is a serious matter,” considering his professional work today as a mere continuation of childhood imagination and creativity past. Created for Seletti, Sending Animals embodies this spirit in a series of playful wooden cabinets and shelves. The rough, angular aesthetic of a traditional shipping crate pairs well with the each piece that subtly mimics the life-size form of one of three different farm animals: a cow, pig, or goose. Lined with a cheerful peach interior and labels that read “handle with care,” “fragile,” and “this way up,” the pig-shaped cabinet is a whimsical accent that can function as a console or even a sofa-side table in your favorite room. While the animal’s flat back creates a convenient surface for temporary storage, three doors conceal the shelf-lined interior (legs included) for a discreet and space-efficient way to stow your collection of coffee-table books.
