Description
If you’re looking for the perfect gift to surprise someone special, we’ve got you covered. The t.e. 163 Pigeon Service line originates from an art installation created by Dutch artist and designer Christien Meindertsma in 2014. Inspired by the homing pigeons used for espionage missions in WWI, the installation featured 200 fabric birds filled with flax seeds. Created for t.e. (Thomas Eyck), this new pigeon collection uses Kvadrat woolen textile, in all available shades. Strong but flexible and slightly stretchy, the Kvadrat fabric allowed the designer to easily recreate the shape of the three-dimensional pigeons. Like their art installation counterparts, these birds feature a flax seed filling. Each pigeon comes with a small, rolled-up note attached to the tail. A clever way to send a meaningful (and secret) message. Handmade and crafted with a sculptural design, the t.e. 163 Pigeon Service provides the ideal solution to surprise a loved one with a creative 3D-style “card.” This is the kind of gift that becomes a cherished keepsake
