Description
Le Misainier is a handmade wooden toy boat by Maison Tirot, the French workshop that has produced toy boats in Brittany since 1946. This black version pairs a low black hull with a red cotton sail, giving the boat a strong graphic look whether it is floating in water or resting on a shelf.
The N205 model is based on traditional Breton fishing boats once used in southern Brittany. Its low hull is made from solid beech wood, with a cotton lug sail rigged above. The boat is designed for children’s first water play in the bath, beach pools, or small basins, but it also works as a decorative object in a nursery, playroom, bathroom, or beach house.
Maison Tirot makes the boat by hand in its Breton workshop, using wood selected from forests near the company’s production site. The result is a toy with visible craft behind it: simple materials, a painted wooden hull, a cotton sail, and a shape tied to French maritime history.
Because the boat is made from wood, it should not be left in water for long periods. After each use, let it dry in the shade and away from strong heat. It meets French and European toy safety standards, but water play should still happen under adult supervision.
