Essent emerged from a core exploration of wall clock functionality and materials. Traditional clocks often obscure minute and second markings, hindering quick time reading. Our goal was to create a standard wall clock with clear numeral displays for both hours and minutes. Essent achieves this through dual-colored numbers and hands, enhancing clarity and intuitive timekeeping. Inspired by letterpress printing, we used thick paper for the dial and applied foil stamping and embossing techniques for a unique expression. In essence, Essent offers effortless readability and versatility, making it suitable for any space and user, from children to adults.
