Description
The Ovject Enamel Rim Plate is a Japanese enamelware plate designed by Yoshihiro Mikami and made by Hearth Designs. Presented by Orlo by Gessato, it brings a ceramic-like surface feel to a thin steel plate, combining the visual softness of tableware with the practical strength of enamel-coated metal.
Each plate is made from 0.8 mm enamel-coated steel. The raised rim gives the plate more grip when carried and helps frame food without making the profile bulky. The plates are light compared to ceramic, stack neatly, and work as well on a dining table as they do outdoors.
The series comes in four sizes. The 30 cm size works as a large dinner plate, serving plate, or tray for tea and coffee service. The 24 cm size is the everyday option for main dishes, pasta, curry, and composed plates. The 18 cm size suits desserts, bread, small servings, and side dishes. The 12.5 cm size is useful for condiments, fruit, small snacks, and sauce portions.
Unlike most ceramic plates, these can be used over a gas flame and in the oven, making them practical for warming, finishing, and serving. They are not microwave safe and should not go in the dishwasher. Hand wash them with a soft sponge, dry thoroughly, and avoid abrasive cleaners or hard impacts that could chip the enamel.
If paired with the Ovject Enamel Bowl in the same size, the rim plate can also be used as a simple lid. That makes the series especially useful for compact kitchens, outdoor meals, and table settings where objects need to do more than one job without looking purely utilitarian.
