Think palm-sized wall clock, cut from a single ring of oak, the grain running in a quiet circle around a clear, workmanlike dial. Yota Kakuda keeps the layout straightforward—thick sans-serif numbers, tall minute marks, no extra lines—so the hour is readable at a glance whether the clock sits on a shelf or hangs above eye level.

A sweep-second movement moves without ticks; you hear pages turn, not the passing seconds. Slip the little oak wedge into the slot and the piece stands on its own, easy to shift when you reorganize the desk. Pop the wedge out and one screw secures the back plate flush to the wall. Two dial styles (and a no-number version if you like a cleaner look) share the same 5 ¾-inch frame and matte glass lens. Battery’s in the box; the sense of calm the clock brings is up to you.
