Description
Designed in 1994 by Santiago Roqueta with the Santa & Cole Team, Básica Mínima translates the material character of the larger Básica lamp into a compact 11.8-inch format. Its size makes it well suited to bedside tables, shelves, consoles, and smaller areas where a full-size table lamp would occupy too much room.
A cylindrical birch wood column rises from a metal base, while a discreet stabilizing disc helps keep the narrow lamp balanced. The shade measures only 4.7 inches across, giving the lamp a small footprint without reducing it to a decorative accent with little practical light.
Two fixed material combinations are available. The first pairs a beige parchment shade with visible stitched edges and a bronze-finished base. The second combines a vertically wrapped natural ribbon shade with a nickel-finished base. The parchment version places greater emphasis on the contrasting stitching, while the ribbon version produces a finer vertical texture when illuminated.
Básica Mínima is intended for soft ambient lighting rather than concentrated task light. The US version requires one E12 LED bulb, not included. Santa & Cole currently recommends a 5.9W bulb producing 806 lumens at 2700K.
An in-line switch controls the light. The lamp is not dimmable and is UL listed for indoor, dry-location use only. This is the corded Básica Mínima; the rechargeable Básica Mínima Batería is a separate product.
