Description
The Artichoke Salad Bowl recreates the layered structure of an artichoke in glazed earthenware, with overlapping leaves forming both the sides and rim of the bowl. Bordallo Pinheiro uses variations of green and naturalistic hand painting to bring out the veins, edges, and irregularities of each leaf.
At almost 13 inches wide, this is a substantial serving bowl rather than an individual piece. Its 3-liter capacity works well for leafy salads, roasted vegetables, pasta, fruit, or a large serving of potatoes at the center of the table. When it is not being used for food, the deep botanical form also works well as a fruit bowl.
Made in Portugal from earthenware, the Artichoke Salad Bowl is part of the collection that received a German Design Award in 2019. It is dishwasher safe and suitable for microwave reheating. Avoid conventional oven use and abrupt temperature changes.
