Description

Designed by Erwan Bouroullec in 2024, the Arba Upholstered Lounge Chair introduces comfort to the original chair’s clear, structural form. Two molded plywood shells create the seat and back, connected by a bent-metal spine and anchored by a die-cast aluminum swivel base. Upholstery in premium wool or leather softens the contours without obscuring the design’s precision. The central sheet-metal spine adds a subtle flex and movement, while the proportions remain visually light and balanced. Honest in construction and refined in feel, the upholstered Arba brings warmth to its industrial core—a modern chair equally at ease in a living room, reading corner, or studio.

Erwan Bouroullec

Erwan Bouroullec (b.1976 Quimper) is based in Paris and focuses on furniture, lighting and systems design. He was a student at ENSAPC and in 1998 became partnert in the studio created by his brother Ronan in 1995. The duo worked together for decades, and have been pursuing individual projects since 2023.
