Description
The i-ru Pot 2L Hakuji White is a Japanese enamel pot made from Nambu ironware, the cast iron craft associated with Iwate Prefecture. Presented by Orlo by Gessato, this 2L cooking pot combines the heat retention of cast iron with a smooth enamel finish that is easier to clean than raw iron.
The pot is made for steady, even cooking. Use it for rice, soups, stews, braised dishes, simmered vegetables, and waterless cooking. For rice, the pot can cook up to 3 go and includes a water-level mark for that use.
The lid sits slightly inside the rim of the pot to help hold in steam during cooking. Small projections on the underside of the lid return condensation to the ingredients, which helps preserve moisture in rice, vegetables, and slow-cooked dishes.
The Hakuji White finish gives the pot a clean, porcelain-like look that works well on the stovetop or at the table. It is compatible with IH cooktops and can be used in the oven. As with any enameled cast iron pot, handle it with pot holders, avoid sudden temperature changes, and let the pot cool before cleaning.
