Ultra-minimalist yet highly practical, the Yuragi Hurricane Lamp offers an elegant take on the traditional lantern. Designer Kazushige Miyake created the lamp with understated cylindrical forms and a rounded handle to let the flames of the candle become the focus. Yuragi means “waiver” or “fluctuate” in Japanese, a reference to the flickering of the candles’ flames. The user can easily place candles of various sizes inside the glass cylinder and take the lamp outdoors to brighten a terrace, garden, or balcony, even in stronger breezes and wind. Made from ceramic, the base is beautifully tactile and has a smooth surface. Available in different colors.
