Description

“Wiwa Stories” portrays the tragic fate of eleven individuals belonging to the Wiwa ethnic group, an indigenous community residing in the remote Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range of Colombia. These individuals lost their lives when they were struck and fatally injured by lightning during the enactment of a traditional ceremony aimed at restoring balance to the universe. This poignant event serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by indigenous communities in their efforts to preserve and practice their cultural traditions.
