Every piece in this series is crafted in Arita, a renowned porcelain city situated on the southernmost Japanese island. Arita’s history has been intricately intertwined with porcelain since the early 17th century.

Makoto Koizumi

Makoto Koizumi was born in 1960 in Tokyo. In 1990, one year after completing his studies, he established his own design practice, Koizumi Studio. The designer works on a variety of projects ranging from architecture to furniture design and product design. In 2003, he opened the Koizumi Tool Store, where he showcases some of his designs.
