He was the first designer to take the chair from its submarine, prison, or hospital setting and use it in high-end interiors. Created for Emeco as a nod to the original chair and completed before his death at 90, the Nine-0 collection showcases Ettore Sottsass’ interpretation of the Navy Chair. The Nine-0 Barstool references the ‘40s chair with a recycled aluminum frame. A soft seat made of polyurethane in five unique colors enhances the design while providing more comfort.
