Nile is a study in poised imbalance. Rodolfo Dordoni sets a tapering cylinder of Carrara or Marquina marble on its edge, then lets a hand-blown glass shade lean against it like a sail catching wind off the river it’s named for. By day the piece reads as sculpture—stone veining against the milky translucence of the glass. Switch it on and the lamp comes alive: a warm wash of light spills downward onto the desk or console while twin slits at the top and base send subtle beams upward, accentuating the shade’s delicately pinched profile.
