Description
Part of the Nambu Tekki collection of cast iron pans, this skillet brings time-honored culinary style to any kitchen. The handmade ironwork boasts durability and superb heat retention. While robust, the design is also more slender than the average cast iron skillet, with a shallow pan and long, thin handle. Weighing under 4 lb., the design is relatively lightweight, a sleek addition to one’s cooking arsenal. The versatile pan can be used for baking and also cooking in the oven or on the stovetop or grill. Thanks to an urushi lacquer glaze, the iron never rusts. The Nambu Tekki collection was designed and forged by the widely acclaimed craftsman Nobuho Miya. Miya works in his family ironware studio, Kamasada, in the Iwate prefecture of Japan. With more than forty years of experience, he practices traditional Nambu techniques and he is considered a master of the art.

I really love this cast iron skillet! I debated for a long time whether or not purchase one, For me, a purchase like this is about an investment, and I want my investment to last a long time.. I also really like the fact that this is handmade in Japan. But really, the proof in the quality of this cast iron was obvious when i made sweet potato corn bread and baked it in the oven in this skillet. It came out so nice and brown and moist. Thank you!

Loooove this skillet. 8.5 inch is a wonderful size and is my new go-to. Made in Japan!
For anyone NEW to cast iron, I would highly suggest to do some research online on how to use it and keep it.
