Description
The best tools often seem obvious once someone has designed them properly. CW&T’s M.R. Tape Dispenser strips the familiar desktop object down to a single bent piece of stainless steel, using the shape of the metal itself to hold one or several rolls of tape under tension.
There is no spindle and no complicated mechanism. Tape feeds through an opening in the steel frame and adheres to a mirror-polished surface at the front, where it stays ready for the next use. The multi-radius form accommodates rolls of different diameters, while a rubber pad underneath gives the dispenser a gentle grip on a desk or work surface.
M.R. can also be mounted directly to a wall using the supplied hardware. This configuration turns an ordinary roll of tape into something closer to a permanently accessible workshop tool and allows for easy one-handed dispensing.
The dispenser works particularly well with paper-based tapes such as masking tape and washi tape. It is a characteristic CW&T object: materially direct, mechanically uncomplicated, and carefully considered down to the surface that the tape touches.
