Hand-blown on the Venetian island of Murano, Gem is less a lamp than a study in light caught mid-motion. Its thick “incamiciato” glass is worked by master artisans while still molten, then rolled and carved to set a pattern of irregular ripples that resemble wind-ruffled water or the veins of alabaster. By day those undulations invite touch; by night they scatter the warm glow of the internal LED bulb in gentle waves across nearby walls and surfaces, giving every switch-on a quietly theatrical quality.
The shade rests on a low satin-gold aluminum base that seems to disappear beneath the glass, letting the 15-inch (38 cm) orb float just above the tabletop. A discreet inline dimmer lets you dial the atmosphere from soft bedside shimmer to radiant centerpiece, making Gem equally at home on a console in the foyer or on a credenza framing a dining room tableau.
