Inspired by the impressions left by drops of rainwater on softer surfaces, this elegant wall clock looks like wall décor. Designer Kanae Tsukamoto has drawn inspiration from personal experience: taking refuge under roof eaves on a rainy day and observing the marks left by raindrops on the ground. The Drops Draw The Existence Wall Clock features a simple rectangular shape. Made of porcelain, the white dial boasts round indentations that mark the hours.The concave shapes create a subtle play between light and shadow, depending on the viewing angle and amount of lighting in the room. This designer wall clock has been included in the collection of the JIDA Design Museum.

Kanae Tsukamoto

Born in the Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, Kanae Tsukamoto studied at the Kanazawa College of Art. Following her graduation, she worked at Mitsubishi Electric and the GK Design Group. She continued her post-graduate studies abroad, studying at the University of Art and Design Helsinki before completing her master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London.
