Tom de Vrieze

Belgian designer Tom de Vrieze brings an engineer’s discipline to furniture and product design. After studying IT and spending several years developing industrial CAD designs, he moved into furniture design in 1996. His technical background and knowledge of production continue to shape an approach centered on function, clarity, and carefully resolved construction. De Vrieze works through his studio, Tovdesign, and the design collaboration Fox & Freeze. His Serpentine outdoor shower for Weltevree reflects this direct approach: a lightweight stainless-steel design reduced to a simple, practical form.
