Milanese architect-designer Rodolfo Dordoni (1954 – 2023) approached every commission with calm rationality. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano, he moved from interiors to industrial design, overseeing Artemide’s glass lines before partnering with Minotti in 1997. As the brand’s art director he delivered two decades of indoor and outdoor collections—Suitcase, Connery, Sunray—where pared-down geometry meets generous comfort. Parallel roles with Cappellini, FontanaArte, Foscarini, Venini, Roda, Kettal, and others let him shape entire catalogues rather than single pieces, proof that clear ideas outlast trends. In 2005 he joined Alessandro Acerbi and Luca Zaniboni to form Dordoni Architetti, extending the same disciplined eye to villas, hotels, flagship stores, and yacht interiors from Milan to New York. Compasso d’Oro citations and the National Prize for Innovation underscore a legacy built on measured proportions and honest materials—designs still in daily use around the world.
