Paolo Zani founded his studio in 1992 after studies at ISIA Faenza and Domus Academy and early work in leading Milan studios. He designs products, interiors, and graphics with a homo faber mindset—testing materials and processes pragmatically. Projects span tiles, hi-fi accessories, tableware, carpets, glassware, seating, cutlery, lighting, phones, appliances, sanitary ware and faucets, hardware, fans, and small electrics; recent recognition includes the German Design Award 2024 for the Amaya fan (Havells). That same year he created Warli, a brand for contemporary carpets, lighting, and furnishings, where he is owner and art director. Zani has taught at ISIA Faenza, NID (India), KIAD (UK), NCAD (Ireland), Kuopio Academy (Finland), IED Milan, and the University of Minnesota.
