Nanna Aakjær Svendsen is the founder of Intarsia Furniture and the granddaughter of renowned Danish furniture designer Jørgen Aakjær Jørgensen. Inspired by a trip to the Swedish wilderness in 2017, she revived her grandfather’s timeless designs and reimagined them under the Intarsia Furniture name in 2019. Through dedication and a deep connection to her family’s design heritage, Nanna meticulously recreated her grandfather’s classics while introducing her own creations, such as the acclaimed Arcus Shelf series. Her work seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary craftsmanship, honoring the past while shaping the future of furniture design.
