NYC-based design studio Chen Chen & Kai Williams was established in 2011. The two founders met while attending the Pratt Institute and founded the firm after working at former NY concept store Moss (Chen) and Tom Sachs’ studio (Williams). Their own studio explores innovative materials and techniques in often playful designs. Chen Chen & Kai Williams’ work ranges from product and furniture design to interior design. Whether created as handmade, one-off objects or as a collection of home accessories, the studio’s projects always display a masterful use of new materials and a focus on creative concepts. Clients include Kvadrat, Whitney Museum, Hem, and Heron Preston, among many others. The designers’ work has been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale in Italy and the Museum of Art and Design, USA.
