The Ocean OC2 Collection highlights Mater’s eco-friendly approach, as each piece is crafted from deflated, granulated, and cast Carlsberg beer kegs, resulting in distinctive green slats. The Ditzel duo met at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and established their design studio in 1946. Their partnership flourished until Joergen’s passing in 1961, after which Nanna continued their work until her death in 2005.

Mater collaborated with Dennie Ditzel, the manager of the Ditzel design archives, to identify designs that could incorporate recycled materials, such as fishnets and ocean plastic waste. The result is the Ocean OC2 Collection, a sustainable outdoor furniture series that pays tribute to the Ditzel’s timeless designs while addressing modern environmental concerns.
