Description
Looks upholstered, feels like air—sheet aluminum “inflated” into a chair.
Designed by Oskar Zięta, the aluminum Chippensteel rethinks an 18th-century silhouette using FiDU, a process that welds and air-forms thin metal into volume. Up close, the evenly spaced perforations read like tufting; the curves are crisp, not padded—your eye swears fabric, your hand knows metal.
The 0.5 size sits at standard dining height (30.7″ tall), with a light, rigid body that’s easy to move and strong enough for daily use. Powder-coated finishes are material-specific—think White Matt 9010, Blue Grey Matt 7031, Umbra Grey Matt 7022, Graphite Grey Matt 7021, Beige Matt 7006, Moss Grey Matt 7003—each one accenting the FiDU ripples rather than hiding them.
Place it at the table, pull one into a studio corner, or set a pair as conversation pieces—sculpture that you actually sit on.
