Holmegaard is a Danish glassware company and iconic Scandinavian design brand. Founded in 1825, the company was run by Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe, a woman ahead of her time who brought her late husband’s dream to life by opening a glass-making factory in Denmark’s Holmegaard marshes. From the late 1920s onward, the company moved away from standard designs, collaborating with talented creators like Jacob E. Bang, Per Lütken, and Michael Bang to produce spectacular glass objects that have become synonymous with modern Danish design. In 2008, Holmegaard was acquired by the Rosendahl Design Group, who continues to manufacture the original glassware designs with the same care for craftsmanship and a focus on preserving Danish design heritage. The Holmegaard collection includes glasses, vases, carafes, and more, all crafted with traditional mouth-blown methods or cutting-edge, highly precise machine-blown techniques.
