Specifications

  • Material
    Japanese oak charcoal
  • Size
0.25 lb bag. Each bag includes an assortment of charcoal pieces of various sizes.
Directions:
  • Binchotan naturally removes chlorine and heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium, and mercury, as well as re-mineralizing with calcium, potassium, magnesium and others. Simply add one stick to a medium sized container of water, and for best results, let sit for 6-8 hours. The charcoal will absorb toxins, and the result is exceptionally clean, crisp tasting water. Binchotan can last up to four months.
  • Once a month
boil sticks of Binchotan charcoal in a shallow pan of water for 10 minutes. This will allow its pores to open which facilitates the absorption and filtration of toxins.
  • After 4 months
After boiling, add stick to water, and check to see that a fine layer of bubbles forms. When a fine layer no longer appears, the Binchotan charcoal has reached its capacity as a filter. Do not discard, it’s still valuable! The Binchotan charcoal stick can be added to soil or compost to neutralize, condition and re-mineralize. It also makes an excellent air deodorizer!
