Peter Raacke’s original 1959 Mono A place setting includes a table spoon, fork, teaspoon, and compact short-blade knife. Made in Germany from matte-brushed 18/10 stainless steel and dishwasher safe.

Description

Designed by Peter Raacke and introduced in 1959, Mono A established the flat, angular form that became central to the German manufacturer’s identity. Its broad handles and sharply defined silhouettes marked a clear departure from the ornamental flatware commonly produced at the time. The collection later received Germany’s Federal Prize for Good Form and entered museum collections internationally.

This four-piece set provides one complete place setting: a table spoon, table fork, teaspoon, and table knife. The knife has Raacke’s original short blade, which gives it a compact profile while retaining the same overall length as the table spoon. Mono added the longer knife option later for customers who prefer an extended blade.

The utensils are made from matte-brushed 18/10 stainless steel. Hardened blade steel is used for the knife to support lasting cutting performance. Mono produces its flatware largely by hand at its manufactory in Mettmann, Germany.

All four pieces are dishwasher safe and designed for regular use. Additional dining utensils and serving pieces are available separately within the Mono A collection, allowing the place setting to be expanded over time.
