The Broom Stacking Chair is an indoor / outdoor dining chair by Philippe Starck for Emeco. Designed in 2012, it turns reclaimed industrial material into a practical chair for everyday seating, dining rooms, patios, cafés, hospitality spaces, and project interiors.
The chair is made from a recycled wood-polypropylene composite, combining reclaimed plastic with wood fiber and strengthening materials. The surface has a subtle speckled texture from the material mix, especially visible in lighter colors. It feels warmer than a standard plastic chair while keeping the durability and easy care needed for high-use spaces.
Broom is stackable up to 6 chairs high, making it useful where seating needs to move, store, or adapt. Use it around a dining table, on a terrace, in a covered outdoor area, at a café, or in a flexible workspace. It arrives fully assembled and includes plastic TPU glides suitable for all floor surfaces, including outdoor use.
Six colors are available: Dark Grey, White, Butter Yellow, Light Grey, Sage Green, and Terracotta Orange. Dark Grey and White are the easiest neutrals. Light Grey is softer and lighter. Sage Green, Butter Yellow, and Terracotta Orange add color without changing the chair’s clean profile.
The chair is outdoor approved and made in the USA. For care, clean with soap and water and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaning methods, and replace glides when needed to extend the chair’s useful life.
