Description
The i-ru Pot 2L Lemon is a Japanese enamel pot made from Nambu ironware, the traditional cast iron associated with Iwate Prefecture. Hearth Designs combines the weight, heat retention, and steady cooking performance of cast iron with a vitreous enamel finish that makes the cooking surface smooth, hygienic, and easier to clean than raw iron.
This 2.0L size is the standard i-ru Pot model. It works for simmered dishes, soups, stews, braises, waterless cooking, and rice. For rice, the pot can cook up to 3 go, the traditional Japanese rice measure, and includes a water-level mark for that use. The thick iron body holds heat well, so cooking continues even after the heat is reduced or turned off.
The lid is designed to sit slightly inside the rim of the pot, helping retain steam and flavor during cooking. Small projections on the underside of the lid help circulate condensation back over the ingredients. It is a practical detail for rice, vegetables, and slow-cooked dishes where moisture control matters.
The Lemon color gives the pot a brighter character than the black, navy, white, or sakura versions in the same series. It can go from cooktop to table, but it is a heavy cast iron piece, so it should be handled with care and proper pot holders. The pot is compatible with IH cooktops and can be used in the oven. Do not use it in a microwave.
