Description
A pale birch ring holds a calm, sand-colored face, the grain peeking through like a watermark between the numerals. Designer Mori Toyoshi kept the hands slender—just enough graphite grey to read at a glance—then hid the sweep-seconds motor so the clock glides in silence. Ten inches across, it feels balanced over a desk or beside the kitchen table; two inches deep, it sits close to the wall without shouting for attention. Made in Japan, the Plywood S GY has stayed in production since 2004 because it does one thing well: mark the day with quiet clarity, whatever the room’s style or decade.
