Crafted in collaboration with prominent Japanese designer Makoto Koizumi for porcelain producer Kihara, this collection presents an array of stackable tools. Among them, this set features a locally crafted maple pestle boasting an unglazed interior texture, evoking the essence of the classical Japanese suribachi mortar.

Makoto Koizumi

Makoto Koizumi was born in 1960 in Tokyo. In 1990, one year after completing his studies, he established his own design practice, Koizumi Studio. The designer works on a variety of projects ranging from architecture to furniture design and product design. In 2003, he opened the Koizumi Tool Store, where he showcases some of his designs.
